About Mandy
Getting to Know Mandy
My art is a celebration of nature, with a particular focus on botanicals. My style is very much my own and I love to experiment with various mediums and subject matters but oil is my true passion and no matter how far I stretch my work, it always stands out as my own. I tend to lean towards macro realism in my compositions. Its my way of pushing you into looking at the garden or subject matter in a new way. I love using shadows and depth of field to create a dynamic 3 dimensional feel that pushes boundaries of realism and abstraction. Through my smooth brushstrokes, I try to captures the beauty, vibrant energy and movement found in my garden.
Beyond botanicals, I am also a passionate dog owner, and I love painting them. I have found that a dogs eyes are the key to their soul. If its a new puppy coming into your home or a memorial piece, I always welcome the opportunity to paint a furry friend. I find it brings joy to a home and a heart.
